This good practice shows 3 cases of accessible cultural buildings in 3 cities of Croatia:

Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula.

In the frame of the COME-IN! Project, the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula has completed a set of infrastructural and communication interventions.  

Spaces like the Amphitheater and the Museum Gallery has become accessible. An external elevator was built, and a lifting and lowering platform was provided, which now enable and facilitate direct access to the museum's spaces for visitors, as shown in the images 1 and 2.

Croatian National Theatre in Split.

During the reconstruction works of the building of the Croatian National Theater in Split its entrance has been made accessible to everyone and especially to people in wheelchairs in accordance with the principles of universal design, as shown in the image 3. Visitors with reduce mobility can contact the theater prior their visit  to make it more accessible, as shown in the image 4.

Aquatika - Karlovac Freshwater Aquarium.

In Aquatika the space is adapted for people with reduced mobility, as shown in the image 5  The approaches and contents for the visually impaired are marked, in the interpretation part the guides try to convey the contents to the visually impaired with a clearer display. Ensuring accessibility was achieved in four categories: architectural, communication, economic and social accessibility. The Aquatica-Freshwater Aquarium was the winner of the "Blue Flower of Accessibility" award for 2017 for ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility.
