An amphibious mobility aid for sea bathing and driving on the beach can be rented free of charge at the bathing areas in Gdańsk. The amphibian is perfect for people with limited mobility, those in a wheelchair, on crutches, using a walker, as well as for the elderly. Amphibian was created for disabled people who prefer water bathing in the sea, lake or swimming pool. Thanks to it, disabled people can also enjoy the benefits of swimming in the sea. Its design allows easy transport on the beach sand and safety on the water. The armrests and wheels are also high-displacement floats. It gives disabled people, e.g. those who use a wheelchair on a daily basis, the opportunity to have direct contact with water.
The mobility aid is intended mainly for wheelchair users, but not only, anyone who has trouble getting to the sea on their own can easily use it. The amphibian rolls perfectly on various surfaces, such as snow, beach or swimming pool. Disabled people can enter the sea in a comfortable and safe way without fear that the salty water will damage the chair. When folded, the amphibious vehicle takes up little space and fits in most cars.
In the summer season, intention to swim must be reported to the lifeguards at the swimming pool. If assistance is needed, a lifeguard will be delegated who will directly supervise safe bathing. Outside the summer season, you the vehicle must be reserved for a specific date. Detailed information can be obtained by calling the Gdańsk Water Rescue Center.
