The Ramp Calculator is an innovative online tool designed to simplify the creation and verification of accessible spaces for individuals with disabilities. This free-to-use platform streamlines the process of designing and implementing ramps that comply with Romanian accessibility standards. By eliminating the guesswork from ramp design, the tool offers significant efficiency benefits, saving valuable time and resources for architects, designers, and building administrators. Its user-friendly interface makes it easily accessible for anyone, regardless of their technical expertise, and empowering them to contribute to the creation of more inclusive environments.
A key feature of the Ramp Calculator is its ability to ensure compliance with standards, as its calculations are precisely aligned with legislative requirements. This guarantees that all constructed ramps meet crucial safety and usability criteria.
To use the Ramp Calculator (which is currently only in Romanian language), a user enters the vertical height between the two levels and the desired width of the ramp in centimetres. This is followed by entering the possible number of turns. The calculator then produces drawings of the solution(s) indicating the required edges, floor area, handrails, tactile warning surfaces, etc. and the requirements for installation according to Romanian accessibility standards.
