Brucity, the Administrative Centre of the City of Brussels , has equipped all its offices with an induction loop to ensure that people with impaired hearing can enjoy a high-quality welcome and service in all the Brussels city administrations.
This induction loop can also be installed in the decentralised liaison offices (Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek, Haren and Louise). Citizens with hearing impairments who have arranged an appointment or meeting can therefore be sure of benefiting from this equipment.
The system can be used in two ways: either the person is fitted with a hearing aid, in which case the sound passes directly through it, or the person is not wearing a hearing aid and can hear their interlocutor through headphones that amplify the sound.
With this arrangement, the City of Brussels has succeeded in both fulfilling its obligation to welcome people with hearing impairments and also offer them a good service experience, equal to other citizens.
