Description

The ability to travel independently and access transport services is fundamental to young people's social inclusion, economic participation and overall quality of life. However, young people  with disabilities often face unique and complex barriers in their travel experiences that remain poorly understood and inadequately addressed by current policy frameworks, service provision, and infrastructure design.

This study represents the first UK-wide initiative to examine the transport needs and experiences of young disabled people through the lens of peer research. By placing young disabled people at the heart of the research process - as both researchers and participants - this study offers unprecedented insights into the challenges faced by this demographic when accessing and using transport services.
