Criterios de accesibilidad para cajeros automáticos - Accessibility criteria for ATMs

Description

Editorial information: Dirección de Autonomía Personal, Tecnología y AccesibilidadOrganización Nacional de Ciegos Españoles (ONCE).

This document provides a set of recommendations for developing accessible ATMs that can be used by all people regardless of their abilities. It also aims to help companies responsible for ATMs to comply with both EU and Spanish laws on digital accessibility.

The key to creating accessible products lies in understanding the relevant accessibility requirements and needs of users, especially those with disabilities. In fact, it is very important to know how such people interact with technology.

For this reason, the requirements have been divided into different categories of disability. Firstly, the most common needs of each category of disability are described. We then provide recommendations based on current EU and Spanish legislation on accessibility and on the expertise of accessibility experts
from ONCE, the ONCE Foundation and ILUNION Accesibilidad.

Finally, we provide a number of general recommendations, which are applicable to all categories of disability discussed.

Spanish version: Criterios de accesibilidad para cajeros automáticos.
