The term “Design for All” is mainly used in the European Union, while in the USA it is called “Universal Design” (French: “conception universal”) speaks. However, it exists.

There is now a general consensus that despite variable names the same approach is meant. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities United Nations from 20065, which until Ratified by 166 partner states (Luxembourg in 2011) at the end of July 2016, the original English text uses the term “Universal Design”.
