Estudio sobre la transformación de las escuelas en espacios inclusivos y accesibles - Study on the transformation of schools into inclusive and accessible spaces

This study was commissioned by the Royal Board on Disability to the Spanish Center for Documentation and Research on Disability (CEDID), which, in turn, entrusted part of its development to the OnInclusion research group at the Autonomous University of Madrid. In this regard, it should be noted that it was coordinated by Carmen Márquez Vázquez and Sergio Sánchez Fuentes and advised by Gerardo Echeita Sarrionandia and Miguel Ángel Verdugo Alonso, along with the technical work of Paloma Arranz Rumbero.

This study is a research project conducted during 2022-2023 by the Spanish Centre for Disability Research and Documentation (CEDID). Its main objective was to identify the strategies required to transform schools into inclusive and accessible environments, drawing on the findings of scientific research carried out over the previous five years.

To this end, a systematic review was undertaken of the results generated by Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) projects, with the aim of presenting to the relevant authorities and the general public a set of proposals and recommendations agreed upon by leading researchers and experts in the field of inclusive education in Spain.
