Description

Since 2014 Hapticke.mapy.cz has been providing the basis for the preparation of tactile maps for the blind users. This globally unique service is the result of the cooperation between the Elsa Centre at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Teiresias at the Masaryk University in Brno and Seznam.cz, and thanks to its versatility and speed it has opened up a whole new perspective in the use of tactile maps.

During the first 5 years of successful operation, the range of maps was gradually expanded from one to three scales and besides the Czech Republic, maps of Slovakia were also added. Now the authors came with a significant extension that allows the creation of a tactile map in minutes for any region of Europe.
