This handbook brings together the issues to be considered in the planning, construction, maintenance and use of a climate-wise rest area. The handbook for a climate-wise rest area was commissioned by Metsähallitus and is part of the broader CLAP project (Climate change communication and adaptation in Arctic protected areas). Changing and warming climate conditions force us to examine the future of hiking and the factors affecting it.
