Description

This background study focuses on user testing of wayfinding signage in a hospital environment, specifically within the Bulovka University Hospital. It was conducted as part of a project focused on design solutions and optimization of navigation systems in healthcare facilities, supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TQ01000352).

The aim of the study is to identify the main problems related to the orientation of patients and visitors in healthcare facilities. A key focus is on identifying how deficiencies in signage affect the convenience and efficiency of movement of individuals in complex hospital buildings.

The research team used several methods of data collection, including an eye-tracking study, interviews with hospital staff, a website audit, and expert walkthroughs testing facility accessibility. It also included surveys focused on the needs of people with special needs.
