The Public Observatory of accessibility and usability practices on websites and mobile applications

Abstract*: The Portuguese Accessibility Observatory for websites and mobile applications has been established in response to the proliferation of online services in today's digital society.

Its primary objective is to evaluate, identify, and promote the adoption of optimal accessibility and usability practices. The Observatory actively monitors and presents statistical data on accessibility and usability levels, with a specific focus on public sector platforms.

Furthermore, it endeavours to raise public awareness, facilitate educational initiatives, and inform decision-makers within the public sector. Through these actions, the Observatory aims to foster the development of more inclusive digital services and enhance the overall user experience, ensuring that digital resources are accessible to all citizens.
