Suunised turismiteenuste ligipääsetavuse parandamiseks psüühilise erivajadusega inimestele - Accessibility of tourism services for people with special mental health needs

Description

This handbook, published in 2022 by the University of Tartu Pärnu College as part of the Erasmus+ funded MindTour project, offers practical guidance for improving tourism accessibility for people with cognitive and psychosocial disabilities.

Unlike traditional approaches that target a single diagnosis, the guidelines take a universal, person-centered approach, identifying common needs and barriers faced by a broad spectrum of people.

The publication provides service design tools, inclusive communication strategies, and real-world examples from museums and tourism sites across Estonia, Latvia, and Belgium.

It includes visual and tactile information design tips, environmental adaptations, and ready-to-use self-assessment templates. The handbook targets tourism service providers, policymakers, educators, and accessibility advocates who seek to make tourism more inclusive and meaningful for people with mental disabilities.

Project MindTour main results.
