In this Guide you will find frameworks for creating an accessible and usable environment for the area surrounding stations. The guide looks at many aspects including design and furniture for persons with visual disabilities.

The guide discusses five design principles as a basis for an accessible way of designing for people with a visual impairment. It then continues with ideas about the surroundings of the area around the station.

The guide helps you determine what to look at and how to work things out to enhance the accessibility. Special attention is paid to the principles of accessible design, including zoning, traffic and movement flows, ways to guide users, user objects and obstacles. In addition, the guide gives more information about the different user groups and variations within users with a visual impairment.
