As cities and mobility providers increasingly rely on smart technologies and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) systems, it is critical to ensure these innovations are fully accessible to older adults and people with disabilities.
The collaboration aims to combine Access Austria’s deep user expertise with Better Mobility’s startup and innovation ecosystem, under the broader framework of AccessibleEU, which connects European stakeholders committed to achieving the goals of the European Accessibility Act.
Together, they will explore how to design, test and roll out barrier-free mobility apps, booking systems, and shared services that work for everyone. This includes engaging diverse user groups, developing concrete guidelines for startups and cities, and creating pilot use cases that showcase practical solutions.
