The entry into force of the European Accessibility Act in June 2025 will require the integration of "design for all" in design processes (EN 17161 standard). This directive aims to make products and services accessible to everyone and will drive a transformation in innovation practices.
In response to these changes, inclusive innovation seeks to include all stakeholders, including people with disabilities and seniors, from the very beginning of the creative process. In addition to promoting social equity, this approach is a powerful economic driver, expanding potential markets and fostering creativity through diverse perspectives. It thus becomes a pillar for more ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible innovation, enabling everyone to fully participate in society.
Since 2018, the TechLab has been supporting companies in implementing these approaches, and together with the European AccessibleEU Resource Centre, they are organising a study day to raise awareness among practitioners and provide them with concrete tools to integrate inclusive innovation within their organizations. This event is supported by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, the Technology for Change Chair at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the H2i Network, Harmonie Mutuelle, and Intégrance.
Experts, practitioners, and researchers will share their perspectives and experiences to guide professionals toward more inclusive innovation processes.
