AccessibleEU Romania - Accessibility and inclusion in culture: A cross-sector dialogue (NW-RO-01)

This AccessibleEU networking event aims to discuss with educational and cultural institutions, government bodies and local authorities, creative industries professionals and stakeholders on the need to learn and apply universal design principles.

It will cover topics such as:

  • what is universal design and how is it addressed by the Romanian legislation in force;
  • why disability and accessibility awareness and education are crucial for understanding and applying universal design principles, and why close collaboration with persons with disabilities and their organizations support a correct implementation;
  • how universal design is addressed in Romanian higher education and practices in fields such as architecture, design, marketing and communication, ITC, tourism;
  • good practices in accessibility in Romania and EU;
  • what can be done to implement actions and build an active local community of practice in line with the AccessibleEU Community of Practice.
  • Target audience: Public administrations and local authorities. Higher education institutions. Cultural institutions, SMEs, large companies and NGOs engaged in universal design and creative industries. Persons with disabilities.
