Accessibility in sports environments continues to be a key challenge in ensuring the full participation of persons with disabilities in cultural, recreational and sporting activities. At the same time, 3D printing and digital manufacturing have become transformative tools for designing personalised assistive products, accessibility solutions and devices adapted to the real needs of users.
In this context, AccessibleEU, in collaboration with 3DLAN, SuperGiz, FONCE and ASEPAU, is organising a specialised conference that will bring together experts, public authorities, sports professionals, designers, doctors, engineers and end users to explore the potential of 3D printing applied to accessibility in stadiums and the sports sector.
The event will also address key issues related to accessibility in sports facilities. It will:
- Analyse the current state of accessibility in sports stadiums, identifying progress, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Explore the potential of 3D printing and digital manufacturing to develop personalised assistive products and innovative solutions for athletes with disabilities.
- Promote technological and social co‑creation by involving users, professionals and organisations in the design of real solutions.
- Foster collaboration among organisations, public administrations, educational institutions and disability‑related associations.
- Understand, from the perspective of medical procedures and assistive products, how to improve the quality of life and the ability of people with disabilities to engage in sports.
- Highlight good practices and impactful projects developed in the Basque Country and across Europe.
