The European Commission has opened a public feedback period on a new draft delegated regulation aimed at strengthening the European Disability Card and the European Parking Card through enhanced digital features.

This initiative focuses on setting out common digital features for the physical cards which are designed to prevent fraud, improve security and ensure interoperability across Member States.

By harmonising digital elements, the EU aims to make the cards easier to recognise and verify throughout the Union, while maintaining a high level of data protection.

Stakeholders, organisations and citizens are invited to submit feedback during a two-week consultation period, which runs from 15 April to 30 April 2026 (midnight Brussels time).

The Commission has stressed that all feedback will be considered when finalising the initiative. Contributions will be published online and must comply with the applicable feedback rules.
