AccessibleEU and the European Blind Union (EBU) will bring together publishers, accessibility experts, policymakers, and disability advocates for the workshop “Building an Accessible Book Ecosystem: Publishers at the Heart of the EAA Transition”, held on 30 September 2026 at the Thon Hotel EU in Brussels and online.
The event comes at a pivotal moment for the publishing sector following the implementation of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
The conference will also examine the relationship between the EAA and the Marrakesh Treaty, the international agreement that promotes access to published works for people who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled.
Experts and stakeholders will explore how this convergence of European and international legislation can drive the transition towards a more inclusive and sustainable publishing ecosystem, grounded in the fundamental right of access to culture, education, and information.
