In recent years, the Lithuanian railway passenger transport company LTG Link has implemented significant changes to improve transport accessibility for people with disabilities. These changes include both the improvement of existing services and the acquisition of new, affordable trains.

New electric and battery trains. LTG Link plans to purchase 15 new electric and electric-battery trains, which will be fully adapted for people with disabilities. These trains will have low-floor carriages that will allow you to easily get on and off without additional obstacles. In addition, they will be equipped with special places for wheelchairs, as well as adapted sanitary facilities. The new trains will also feature greater comfort and reduced noise levels, which will improve the travel experience for all passengers.

Stations and platforms. LTG Link aims to ensure that all railway stations and platforms are adapted for people with disabilities. This includes the installation of elevators, ramps, as well as clearly marked paths and information signs. In addition, the stations provide assistance to passengers with reduced mobility, and the ticketing system allows pasangger to mark the need for assistance so that staff can prepare and provide the necessary assistance upon arrival at the station.

Assistance services during the journey. Passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility can benefit from special assistance services during the journey. It is recommended to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the departure of the train and inform the staff of the need for assistance. Assistance may include boarding and disembarking the train, luggage transportation, or other necessary assistance.

LTG Link  is concerned to ensure that train journeys are accessible and convenient to all travellers.
