The Belfry of Thuin is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in a Walloon commune. To compensate for the fact that people with disabilities are unable to climb to the very top of the belfry to discover its architecture, they have developed several alternatives that allow visitors to discover the historic building all the same:
- Relief model of the belfry with Braille translation.
- Production of a video in sign language with subtitles.
- Production of an easy-to-read and understand guidebook.
- A replica of the bells that people can see, hear and touch.
Thanks to all these improvements, the belfry has just been awarded a completely green Access-i label, which is extremely rare for this type of building.
