Pfeffersport Berlin is not only sports club of Berlin, but it offers a model for inclusive sports. Over 300 different programs allow people with and without disabilities to participate in sports together, thus promoting inclusion in sports.
Diversity in motion – that's the motto of Pfeffersport Berlin. With more than 4,200 members, 180 instructors, and 50 different sports and exercise programs, Pfeffersport is a pioneer of inclusion. The club has been offering inclusive programs for over 25 years. It all began with a research project at the Free University of Berlin in 1996. In cooperation with the State Sports Association and the Disabled Sports Association, a group of students initiated inclusive exercise programs in various sports clubs.
The project implemented within this framework at Pfeffersport still exists today. Since then, however, a multitude of opportunities and initiatives have been added: From wheelchair basketball to beach volleyball to parkour, over 300 groups regularly participate at Pfeffersport. These are funded by membership fees, but also by partners such as the State Sports Association, the Berlin Senate, Aktion Mensch, and various corporate partners.
Pfeffersport: Sports for everyone.
