The Danish association of the blind has compiled several principles of accessibility in order to ensure the accessibility of nature and the built environment for visual impaired people.

The principles are divided into three sections: a) outdoor areas (for example beaches, parks, bus stops, and more), b) houses (for example floor plans, kitchen, mailbox, access conditions, and more), and c) interior (for example ramps, lighting, elevators, and more). For each section and subsection accessibility challenges for visually impaired people are addresses as well as how to remediate these.

The issues as well as the recommendations are detailed explained with examples and references for further information.
