Current digital accessibility practices may not always cater for the needs of persons with deafblindness. In some situations (such as the Covid pandemic), being digitally excluded can lead to almost complete isolation.

Clearly, digital accessibility for the deafblind must be considered a human right. Researchers from Örebro University and the Swedish National Resource Center for Deafblindness produced a webinar, where they discussed both the challenges and opportunities that technology brings.

The webinar also highlighted the perspectives of persons with Usher, voicing different experiences of digital usage and the persons views on what policies are necessary to drive positive change.
