The annual Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) Architecture Awards raise awareness of the value that architecture brings to society – from our homes to our workplaces, from our schools to our healthcare buildings, and at every scale in our villages, towns and cities. Quality architecture is inclusive and sustainable and makes a positive contribution to climate change action.

The Awards are organised across categories to recognise the wide-ranging contribution that Architects make across all building types, infrastructure and across all scales. Each completed project is unique, responding to a given set of challenges and opportunities.

Awards Categories: Adaptation and Re-use, Conservation, International, Living: Adaptation / New Build / Housing, Public Buildings, Workplace and Fit-Out, Research, Sustainability, Universal Design and Urban Design.

Since 2013, the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) at the National Disability Authority (NDA), has supported the (RIAI) Universal Design category as part of their annual architecture awards. The aim of the award is to promote excellence in Universal Design among the architectural profession in Ireland.
