Two communication boards with symbols have been developed and placed in two parks of the Aglantzia Municipality in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The boards aim to facilitated interaction and communication, as well as provide information to children (people) using augmentative and alternative communication, and other persons that can be benefited from the use of symbols, including people with intellectual disabilities, non-Greek speaking visitors, young children and other.
The boards have been developed by the Mulitidisciplinary Centre ‘Monadika Chamogela’ (Unique Smiles) which is an NGO driven by persons of children with disabilities, in the framework of the programme «Young Cities» of the Municipality of Aglantzia in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The overall programme aims to culturally develop the municipality’s neighborhoods. The project was supported by the National Betting Authority and the Cyprus Youth Organization.
