How to make cultural heritage accessible and “visible” for people with visual impairments and other difficulties? Equilibrium Association through its Tactile Workshop for Equal Opportunities in the Community Project had created a tactile exhibition in the Regional Museum of History in the city of Ruse.
Tactile models of buildings and monuments in Ruse and adapted for touching works of art of local authors were presented to children and adults with visual impairments and other disabilities, together with people from marginalized communities.
Museum’s animators were trained to make sensitizing sessions in the museum accessible for all people in the city and beyond. 180 children and adults participated in the interactive sessions under the project and the number grows each year.
