Flanders launches an online directory to check the accessibility of cafés and restaurants

Restaurants and cafés in Flanders that are accessible to the elderly, persons with disabilities, or parents with strollers can win a gold medal.

Inter-Accessible Flanders has launched the website iedereenoveral.be, where every visitor can see which restaurants and cafés have achieved bronze, silver, or gold medals. Thanks to the medals, they can see if there is, for example, an adapted toilet, if they can easily enter, and assess if they need assistance.

Operators can enter data and photos of their establishments. For that, they just have to create a login for this at iedereenoveral.be via their smartphone or tablet. Bronze, silver, and gold medals are immediately and automatically awarded digitally. Gold medals will also be awarded physically. Everyone, both customers with and without disabilities, can share a review on the detail page of the establishment.

To help owners design accessible establishments, or make adjustments to existing establishments to make them more accessible, Inter-Accessible Flanders has put together the following guide: https://www.vlaanderen.be/inter/overheden-en-professionelen/toegankelijke-restaurants-en-cafes
