On Friday 26 April 2024, the seventh Accessibility Day at the Stuttgart Media University, co-organised with AccessibleEU, took place under the motto "From niche to mainstream". Recordings are now available.

During the course of the event, various contributions showed examples of the areas in which digital accessibility has already become mainstream and where there are still challenges. The speakers came from large German commercial enterprises and social organisations and reported on their day-to-day work from different perspectives:

  • Beatriz Gonzalez, head of accessibility and digital inclusion Central Europe at ATOS, gave a keynote speech on how this large software house in the field of digital transformation sells digital accessibility services and products.
  • Michael Düren from Pfennigparade Munich reported on how an inclusion company works in the primary labour market.
  • Fiona Heilemann from Deutsche Telekom MMS reported under the motto "The earlier - the better", using the example of the Magenta TV streaming service, how important it is and what advantages there are to incorporate aspects of digital accessibility into planning and organisational processes right from the start.
  • The series of lectures was accompanied by several information booths where various organisations and projects presented their activities. Both at the get-together before the event and during the coffee break, everyone had the opportunity to exchange ideas and to network.
  • At the end of the event, the speakers and the audience came together for a panel discussion.

Did you miss the Accessibility Day? No problem! The recordings of the event and some of the slides are now available on the Hochschule der Medien website: Seventh Accessibility Day of the Hochschule der Medien.
