The objective of these guidelines is helping to understand the importance of the participation of the representatives of persons with disabilities in standardisation, as well as providing practical information on how to make it possible.
It explains what is a standard and how to navigate through the standardisation documents, explaining why, being voluntary documents, they have such a positive impact in the society.
It also provides an overview of the national, European and international standardisation systems, and provides clear and detailed information on how to contribute to the standardisation works.
This document is complemented by the document “Accessibility Standards at European Level”, published by AccessibleEU in 2023, which has been the base for the present document.
