  • Municipality of Bratislava

The new Accessibility Map of Bratislava is a pilot project designed to progressively provide a comprehensive overview of the accessibility of buildings and public spaces within the capital city of Slovakia. In its current iteration, the map primarily features buildings under the ownership and management of the City of Bratislava.

The data integrated into the map is based on professionally conducted accessibility audits, which are very comprehensive. These audits assess accessibility from the perspectives of persons with mobility, visual, and hearing impairments, encompassing criteria such as building access, entrance points, interior accessibility and navigation, and the availability of specialised equipment and services. Over 160 sites have been assessed and mapped, as of October 2026.

To facilitate efficient navigation and the identification of relevant locations, the map allows users to filter data by municipal district, degree of accessibility (categorized as fully accessible, partially accessible, or inaccessible), and facility type. A PDF document covering the audited venues provides additional information about the accessibility features. The dataset will undergo continuous expansion and refinement; future updates will include additional structures as well as photographic documentation to provide users with enhanced visual context regarding the accessibility of specific sites.
