Slovenia has made significant efforts to improve accessibility in public transportation for persons with disabilities. For instance, tactile paving are now standard at bus and train stations to assist individuals with visual impairments in navigating their surroundings confidently. Other examples are providing low-floor buses, wheelchair ramps, and audio and visual announcements on buses and trains.
Furthermore, the government has implemented regulations that require new public transportation vehicles to meet accessibility standards, such as having low floors and wheelchair ramps. In addition, the government has provided funding for the retrofitting of older vehicles to make them more accessible. In Slovenia, public transportation is free for persons with disabilities.
