Description
The law (2018:1937) on accessibility to digital public services transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102, also known as the Web Accessibility Directive, and also contains requirements that go beyond the provisions of the directive.
The Web Accessibility Directive (EU) 2016/2102 in Sweden has been transposed by the act SFS 2018:1937 and the accompanying ordinance SFS 2018:1938. The latter assigns regulatory rights to the Agency for Digital Government (DIGG). DIGG published the required regulations MDFFS 2019:2 in May 2019.
The regulations establish that the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies in Sweden shall conform to the requirements set forth in Article 4 of the directive.
