AccessibleEU France - Information Day: "The European Accessibility Act: Regulatory Impacts in France" (24-NW-FR-01)

This event aims to facilitate informed discussions on adapting the EAA into French practices, ensuring effective and inclusive accessibility while considering national specificities within the flexible French legal framework.

The event begins with an overview session featuring a European Commission representative introducing the EAA, followed by insights into its specific impacts and French preparations from the Delegate for Standards. Practical implementation strategies will be outlined by Jesus Hernández Galán from AccessibleEU. The morning's second session focuses on accessibility in the built environment, with speakers from JTC 11 and key stakeholders, highlighting industry and association perspectives on standards. The afternoon session shifts to products and services, exploring compliance with EAA standards, focusing on EN 17161, digital accessibility, ‘Acceslibre’ case study and a Q&A session on critical issues, including assistance services. The seminar concludes with inspirational testimonials: Stéphane Gouret from L’École de design Nantes Atlantique discusses how accessibility fosters creativity and pedagogy in schools, while Estelle Peyrard of Techlab APF France Handicap emphasises the importance of user expert collaboration.
