By facilitating discussions and knowledge exchange among key players, such as stakeholders, urban designers, mobility experts, and representatives of civil society and academia, the event addressed the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in urban settings and inspired actionable solutions. It was structured around the following topics:

  • Smart human cities: technology at the service of urban design and mobility for all
  • Users of the urban environment: needs, problems and good practices for the use and enjoyment of public spaces
  • Lessons learned from the award-winning cities in the EC Access City Award
  • New urban developments: strategies and challenges for the effective incorporation of accessibility in urban design processes

The panelists, as well as the keynote speakers, were able to share good practices of all kinds of accessibility in different spaces, such as playgrounds, historic city centres or public transport.

More than 480 participants attended the event.
