AccessibleEU September events

AccessibleEU Centre is organising several exciting and inspiring national events which will take place in different Member States during the month of September.

These events are part of the Centre’s goal to enhance accessibility coherence through strategic tools including training, awareness, and sharing good practices.

Romania

AccessibleEU Romania in partnership with the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce is organising the Romanian Accessibility Awareness Day Conference 2023.

The in-person workshop will be a space to share knowledge, expertise and good practices on accessibility to empower businesses, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.

It will be held on 19 September at the Marmorosch Hotel - Vienna Room 2 Doamnei St. in Bucharest.

The event will be conducted in Romanian and will provide captioning and Romanian sign language interpretation.

Portugal

The Smart and Inclusive Cities workshop organised by AccessibleUE Portugal and Câmara Municipal de Cascais in partnership with NOVA School of Business & Economics aims to be a place for sharing knowledge about best practices on accessibility in public spaces.

The event is hybrid, and will be held on 21 September at NOVA SBE – School of Business & Economics, Campus de Carcavelos, Rua da Holanda, n.º 1, 2775-405 Carcavelos, Portugal.

The event will be conducted in Portuguese. Captioning and Portuguese sign language interpretation will be available.

Registration to this event closes on 20 September.

Luxembourg

AccessibleEU Luxembourg in partnership with the Ministry of Family, the city of Remerschen/Schengen and the Erliefnis Baggerweier association is organising the workshop titled Designing accessible events. Understanding the concept ‘Design for All’.

The aim of this workshop is to introduce AccessibleEU Centre and explain the value it brings to accessibility in Luxembourg and EU by providing expertise networking and training opportunities, and the exchange of good practices.

The event will be held onsite on 23 September and will offer a mutual learning session.

It will be conducted in Luxembourgish. Captioning and sign language interpretation will be offered.

Estonia

AccessibleEU Estonia has organised the workshop titled My Accessible City which aims to show the improvements made to the city of Tallinn to make it more accessible. The in-person workshop will also serve as a space for experts and Estonian citizens with disabilities to share their experience living and moving around the city.

The event will be held on 26 September at Tallinna Puuetega Inimeste Koda, Endla 59, Estonia. It will be conducted in Estonian. Captioning and Estonian sign language interpretation will be offered.

Slovenia

AccessibleEU Slovenia is organising a session on accessibility in the public sector within REHA Days 2023.

During this awareness-raising workshop the AccessibleEU Centre will be introduced to the general public who will learn about the benefits and values it will bring to the Slovenian community in terms of accessibility.

The event is hybrid will be conducted in Slovenian and English. It will be held on 27 September at Hotel Slovenija, Obala 33, 6320 Portorož, Slovenia.

Live captioning and sign interpretation in Slovenian will be offered. There will also be a hearing loop (T-Coil) in the room.

Austria

The Aid Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austria (HGBS), the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) and the Association of Austrian Software Innovations (VÖS) are jointly launching a series of events on Digital Accessibility.

They will be held onsite on 27 September at Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (OCG), Wollzeile 6, 1010 Vienna, Austria.

The events will be in German. Captioning and sign interpretation will be offered
