Public consultations in Poland about accessibility in communications and elections

Poland is preparing a draft act implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, with the proposed name ‘Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities’. As part of the project, 14 public consultations have been carried out in since May 2022, focusing on diverse topics such as information and communication accessibility, independent living, or the accessibility of elections. 

The consultations were of an in-depth nature, covering various ways of obtaining opinions on the draft act and proposals for its improvement. Representatives of various environments participated in the consultations, including those of people with special needs, especially persons with disabilities. As a result, a final report will be prepared.
