The museum was built in the eighties of the last century and reconstructed in 2015. Initially, the building was not environmentally accessible. However, when implementing the museum's reconstruction project, special attention has been paid to the aspects of physical accessibility of visitors to the interior of the building, as well as to the variety of content interpretation, interactive display, and accessibility for all target groups.

Riga Motor Museum is easily accessible to persons with mobility impairments. From the parking lot to the entrance of the museum, people in wheelchairs can easily reach it using a flat ramp. The museum has automatically operated entrance doors, as well as an elevator in the building, which provides convenient access to all museum floors and exhibitions. Moving from the first to the second floor is possible using a ramp suitable for people in wheelchairs.
