Operational Programme "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020"- action "Creation of Integrated Touristic Accessible Marine Destinations".

The action was addressed to the Municipalities of the country and the Public Real Estate Company Limited (ETAD S.A.), aiming to create accessible beaches to persons with disabilities and others with limited mobility. The action was to develop and supply suitable lightweight, non-permanent infrastructure and devices for the autonomous access of persons with disabilities to the sea and non-permanent auxiliary facilities in the wider area of beaches and in the swimming area.

Eligible expenditures include other facilities such as removable changing rooms, portable sanitary facilities, accessible pathways of appropriate length for easy transport and storage during the winter season, areas for shade/protection of bathers.

Each Municipality could submit a single application for funding to implement interventions for up to four (4) different beaches with maximum allowed budget for each beach of 60,000 euros. The initial budget program of 15,000,000 euros, is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and national resources.

In addition to the above-mentioned eligible expenditures, eligibility rules also included:- access from the road network to each intervention point/beach-The interventions should be in accordance with the current institutional framework of environmental and other relevant legislation-.

The supplied equipment as a whole should carry the appropriate certificates of safe operation and compatibility with the safety limits imposed by directives, regulations and the national framework- In each intervention area/beach, informational signs must be placed to inform visitors about the parts of the beach that are accessible, the sanitary areas, etc.
