The website of the Spanish Center for Documentation and Research on Disability (CEDID) has featured a dedicated section for easy-to-read books since 2023.

Through this initiative, the centre aims not only to collect but also to organize and make available to interested users a broad and up-to-date selection of accessible publications in this format. The main objective is to facilitate open access to adapted content, thereby creating a specialized, well-structured catalogue designed to meet the needs of people with reading comprehension difficulties. This section continues to grow and currently includes around 300 documents.

Easy-to-read materials play a fundamental role in social and cultural inclusion, as they enable people with different reading abilities to access information, education, and culture on equal terms.

By adapting texts through clear language, simple structures, and visual supports, comprehension barriers are reduced and personal autonomy, active participation, and the full exercise of rights are encouraged.
