How can the educational environment include children with sensory, physical and communication disabilities?

This article addresses the needs for multisensory design approach to the educational environment in Bulgaria where a significant group of children with special educational needs – about 32,000 children – are facing various accessibility barriers in the environment and activities. 

Examples with sensory stimuli in the classroom and social spaces in the kindergarten and school are presented in a vivid way – soft materials and textures, three-dimensional educational installations with volumetric letters and numbers, musical installations, green stations, active chairs and other more.
