Description

The aim of the guidelines is to promote the accessibility of nature tourism to people with mobility, vision, hearing and mental disabilities, as well as seniors and parents traveling with baby carriages.

The guidelines include recommendations for the promotion of direct access to nature trails and natural objects (suitable paths, their surface, slope, etc.), as well as for the availability and improvement of rest areas and parking lots, the availability of lookout towers, boat docks and swimming areas, the availability of accommodation, toilets and shower rooms , accessibility of the e-environment, as well as the main ethical principles in communication with people with special needs.

Guidelines prepared by Interreg VA Latvian-Lithuanian cross-border cooperation programs 2014-2020. project no. LLI-010 within the framework of "Nature tourism for all" (UniGreen).

The guidelines serve as a practical guide for all municipalities, nature parks, tourist information centers, entrepreneurs working in the field of tourism and various organizations that promote the integration of people with special needs into the life of society and their access to nature tourism.
