AccessibleEU Romania - Cultural Timișoara: a European City, a City for All (NW-RO-01)

Starting from the presentation of the “Cultural Timișoara – a European City, a City for All” Project (www.timisoara4all.eu) implemented by the Association CED Romania Centre of Excellence through Diversity, the event aims to discuss on local success stories in accessible cultural events, the built environment and heritage. The location of the event is Timișoara, European Capital of Culture 2023, where the Project is implemented.

With national and EU experts (AccessibleEU experts included) sharing their experiences in accessible tourism, hospitality and communication, the event aims to network with cultural institutions, government bodies and local authorities, creative industries professionals and stakeholders and show them the need to be inclusive and apply universal design principles.

The event encompasses a comprehensive approach to fostering accessibility and inclusivity across various domains within the cultural landscape. This initiative is not confined to a singular aspect but rather seeks to create a collaborative and intersectoral conversation that addresses the diverse needs of individuals within the cultural sphere.

It aims to present the Timișoara Project, to present good practices at local and European level in the field of accessibility of cultural content and inclusive communication in tourism, and to present the European Accessibility Resource Centre AccessibleEU.
