This AccessibleEU events aims to raise awareness on this issue by,
- Bringing together key stakeholders involved in housing to reflect together on housing accessibility.
- Sharing strategies and challenges to be addressed on this topic, from different perspectives and points of view.
- Disseminating the idea of housing accessibility in general, breaking the traditional association of accessibility and housing with housing adapted for people with reduced mobility. Accessibility and housing design for all: older persons, children, families, etc.
- Enabling a massive hybrid event on a topic of great general concern, which can also have a far-reaching impact beyond those interested in participating in person.
- Bringing together points of view and experiences to forge possible future advances in housing accessibility.
This event is co-organised with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda and COAM (Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid), in collaboration with CSCAE (Consejo Superior de Colegios de Arquitectos de España), UIA (International Union of Architects), Fundación ONCE, CERMI (Comité Español de Representantes de Personas con Discapacidad) and NAN Arquitectura, followed by the opening of the exhibition "Friendly and Inclusive Spaces Awards" of the UIA awards on inclusive architecture at the COAM.
