The European Blind Union celebrates its 40th anniversary

On the occasion of the European Blind Union (EBU)’s 40th Anniversary, the organisation has shared a press release to underline its main achievements throughout its four decades of existence.

On the occasion of the European Blind Union (EBU)’s 40th Anniversary, the organisation has shared a press release to underline its main achievements throughout its four decades of existence.

During this period, EBU has contributed to the promotion of the rights of blind and partially sighted people across Europe through advocacy work in areas such as the Marrakesh Treaty, the European Accessibility Act or the promotion of Braille. 

However, persons with visual impairment still face obstacles in their access to education, employment, healthcare and mobility services, among others. In this sense, EBU says that "the previously mentioned feats give us the strength to keep working to build a more accessible and inclusive society in close cooperation with our National Members".
