Fundación ONCE invites you to AccessibleEU launch event, which aims to introduce the European Accessibility Resource Centre - AccessibleEU, explain its goals, the team involved, the planned activities and the expected outcomes.
This centre is one of the initiatives proposed by Strategy on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030.
AccessibleEU Launch Event
The launch will be an awareness event, where AccessibleEU will be presented as a European hub for accessibility, offering expertise, knowledge, and practical skills for various stakeholders, including policymakers, legislators, and representatives of different groups such as seniors and persons with disabilities, among others.
Where?
European Economic and Social Committee, Rue Belliard 99, 1040, Brussels, Belgium.
The event will take place both in-person and virtually.
When?
Tuesday, July 4th, from 9:00 to 13:00 hours.
How to Participate?
The event will be conducted in a hybrid format in English. There will be English subtitles and international sign language. Registration is required.
Event Structure
The event will feature three technical panels. The first panel is titled "Challenges in Implementing Accessibility Legislation in the EU," where the difficulties of different countries in implementing European legislation at the national level will be discussed. Additionally, strategies, best practices, and success stories will be shared.
In the second panel, titled "Connecting the Actors," the needs of different stakeholders involved in the development and use of accessible environments, products, and services will be discussed. Companies, users, and relevant entities from the nearest public administration to citizens will be represented.
The third panel, titled "Training Accessibility Professionals," will analyse various strategies for training professionals in accessibility that have been implemented. Challenges. Also, success stories in implementing accessibility in university academic programs, as well as the development of technological tools for providing training in an open and massive format, will be shared.
