DigidelCenters. For a democratized digitization. Sweden

Country
  • Sweden
Scope of application
  • Personal autonomy
Type of organisation
  • Public administration
Organisation responsible
  • Local municipalities and non-profit associations

About 30 local municipalities in Sweden have a DigidelCenter. This is a physical meeting place where citizens can learn about and get help with digital technology.
Citizens can get individual help to overcome obstacles when interacting with everyday online services. They can also try – maybe for the first time - tools such as 3d printers, drones and music editing software.

The DigidelCenters are co-located with accessible venues such as public libraries, and are free of charge. Funding comes from a variety of sources. Primarily local municipalities and the Swedish Internet Infrastructure Foundation.
