On December 3, 2021, the fully accessible digital portal amea.gov.gr was launched. This portal is the first of its kind in the public administration sector, providing direct and effective access to information related to the rights of persons with disabilities for all citizens.
The portal is organized around four main pillars:
- The Coordination Mechanism for the implementation of the UNCRPD which provides information about the responsibilities of the Coordination Mechanism. The names and contact details of the Ministries, Regions and Municipalities sub-focal points are also available.
- The National Accessibility Authority which offers details about its role, aim, members and the opinions that were published so far.
- The National Action Plan for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2020-2023), which contains information on the content of the plan, including its pillars, targets and actions.
- Τhe Legislation pillar which provides access to available legislation such as EU Regulations, Laws, Presidential Decrees, Ministerial Decrees and so on, organized by policy field.
Visitors to the portal can access the latest news, announcements, and events related to disability issues. Additionally, due to its fully accessible status, the platform was utilized during the public consultation of the National Strategy on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2024-2030, allowing all persons with disabilities to participate and share their comments on the Strategy without facing any accessibility barriers.
