The guide covers all the accessibility standards that swimming pools in Brussels and Wallonia must meet.
It aims to be a practical and conceptual tool to integrate the accessibility in swimming pools, as part of swimming pool renovation and construction work.
The development of this guide is also in line with the recommendations developed by the European Union Commission for people with disabilities. Indeed, the Commission stated as a principle in its 2010-2020 strategy: “remove the obstacles that prevent people with disabilities from participate fully in society in the same way as others.
